Farming With a Team of Horses... Then Early Tractors and Machines...

The first photo below shows James Burton Groves planting corn on his Grandmother Minnie B. Cox's farm sometime in the 1930's - 1940's.  The only son of James and Edna Matson Groves has written the following about this photo.





1.  No, I don't know the origin of it.  It's a great photo taken in the "bowl" at great grandma's farm near Viroqua.  He's planting corn here.
2.  I seem to have a very vague recollection that this photo was used in a farm publication or in the Vernon County Broadcaster newspaper. 
3.  I also seem to remember another photo of the same situation but that was more of a close-up of dad on the planter.
